We've been up and running for almost a year now and the dream has become a reality. An orphanage a Children's home and soon a counseling center Parentless sprung to life from a dream, a dream to help. After running around for years as a programming consultant I began to wonder WHY. What's the point the more code I write and the more problems I fix the more things I get to see refactored or replaced. In the never ending world or Moore’s law I began to realize that no mater how good the code or innovative the idea by the time I hit the grave it would all be gone. I was a professional bit herder whose herd was dying of Moore's dieses.
In 2006 all that changed. I decided to start my own company a company that would give back 100% of its Net Profit. Starting out on our own seemed an odd approach at first my personal income was cut by nearly 90% the first year crippling my ability to help anyone. But gradually that has changed. Salaries have remained the same and net profit of the company has begun to grow. We were able to open an orphanage this year and with the help of a client we have also opened a homeless shelter. Next we hope to open a counseling center and then hopefully in 2010 we will be able to purchase some land and expand all three.
Terrorism, bombings, and mass murders the headlines are full. We live in an age were mankind has the resources to do incredible harm. But we also are now able to do incredible good. It’s been a bumpy road but we continue to move forward. Join us as we try to help. For more information see Parentless.org
